The house is 700 years old but we do have modern rooms with no height problems and bigger bathrooms. You were offered one of these rooms when you arrived but you refused it and said you wanted to stay in the old house! For breakfast there is a self service buffet where you can take as much as you like. You can order what you want off the menu and bigger portions or second helpings. Many people have something from the buffet, then porridge and then a full English breakfast. I do not know what you paid for your room as you booked through a travel agent and not with us. We do not control the prices charged by travel agents. It is better to book direct with the hotel to get the best price. The Tea is not expensive as you had tea, cake and scones and the bar is what you would pay in the pub. We have a 4 star Gold Award for customer service inspected by a hotel inspector, so we are as good as the best.
